Why perceptual evaluation is essential for image quality testing

DxO publish an article about their perceptual evaluation of image quality.

Some item I have different opinion. for ex, 

Exposure

this is more like DR problem to me not necessary exposure problem.

Focus

Use if image is not blur of different system to judge focus. Some factor need to consider, for ex, Pixel of density, ISP Sharpen, denoise etc.
